Fort Lauderdale Microdermabrasion

Over time, our skin begins to show signs of sun damage and aging. Although this is natural, it is something most of us dread as we get older. Microdermabrasion is a skin-freshening technique designed to reverse the signs of aging and the effects of sun damage.

Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical procedure that is performed by applying gentle abrasion and suctioning. The technique has been designed to give us back our fresh, youthful appearance by eliminating:

  • Wrinkles
  • Fine lines
  • "Crow’s feet"
  • Acne scars
  • Sun spots
  • Discoloration
  • Redness/ blotchiness

Microdermabrasion stimulates the production of skin cells and collagen, leaving the skin looking more supple and smooth.

What to Expect

The procedure is performed in an office and the patient is free to go immediately after. The entire procedure takes 30 minutes to an hour. During the first 24 hours following microdermabrasion, the patient may experience slight discomfort, dryness and tightness in the skin. Some patients experience redness of the skin, but it should only last a few days.

As with most procedures done to the face, there are risks of bleeding, infection, hyper pigmentation and/ or scarring. Most patients who get microdermabrasion have to get more than one treatment to achieve their goals.
