Botox, What to Expect
Botox is injected through a number of tiny needles into the problem areas. This procedure only takes 10 to 15 minutes, depending on how much treatment the patient needs. The patient can leave immediately after the procedure and does not need to miss work or change his/her routine activities.
Depending on where Botox is injected, patients may experience headaches, nausea, droopy eyelids, flu-like symptoms and possibly respiratory infection. Immediately following the procedure, patients are expected to experience temporary discomfort, bruising and redness at the injection site.
Improvements in the appearance of wrinkles will occur within 7 days after the injection and typically last up to 6 months.
